Solar Cooking with Hot Pot Solar Oven

27 April 2009 | Solar Power | 3 Comments

As I said in some previous posts, solar energy is a very valuable source of energy, and is among the few things that is not affected by the economic crisis. In some previous posts we presented some basic principles of a solar cooker and many types of existing solar ovens. Now, I will present same type of device in a newer version. This solar oven is similar to a usual parabolic oven but is a little more expensive. A Hot Pot Solar Oven is not more expensive than $100 and if the device is used in a sunny day may reach a temperature of 400 Celsius degrees in less than one hour (Hot Pot Solar Oven is easy to install). You can find it online on specialized sites.

You mentioned that parabolic solar cookers cost on average $5.

Please could you let me know where I can purchase a parabolic cooker for that price.

Is it a typo error in your post, should it have a couple of extra zeros after the 5.

[...] By admin on May 16th, 2009 Solar cells are found nowadays in more devices from different domains.Until now we’ve seen solar cars, solar boats, solar pumps, solar laptops, solar ovens etc.In this post we present a new solar energy application. The installation of solar cells to a lunch box to keep the food warm wherever you are.For example when buying a pizza and then go to a picnic, in time, it cools and becomes hard to eat.     This solar lunch box was created by Industrial designer Songwei, and is able to keep food warm and at the same time it preserves its aroma. The box has a heating system inside, powered by solar panels installed on its face. You can attach this solar box to backpack or travel bags so that sunlight can have direct action on the solar cells from the surface of the lid.
