Soil pollution includes all possible processes of soil degradation, as a result of human activities. Soil pollution depends on air pollution and water pollution. Because soil is a source of water and mineral substances, soil pollution affects plants, implicitly animals, people, and biosfere. Soil pollution can be physical, chemical, biological and radioactive.

The most popular sources of soil pollution:

-excavation works;

-garbage cover;

- the mixture with hydrocarbons, ammonia (air substances) ;

-radioactive materials;

- industrial residues;

-erosion and landslides;

-by acidification;

-with water excess;

-excess of nutrients;

-by mixing with pesticides;

Main industries that pollute the soil are: the energy industry, metallurgical industry, machine construction industry, chemical and petrochemical industry, food industry, pulp and paper industry, agriculture industry.

    I live in a new subdivision. The build failed to clean up all the bricks and soda pop can etc underneath the soil. Most likely why my plants don’t grow too fast …lol
