Electromagnetic Influence on Human Body

Usually, when it is followed the electromagnetic field influence on technical systems, it is used the concept of electromagnetic compatibility.When it is followed the effect on man’s health and are composed maps of the electromagnetic perturbations (disturbances), accomplained by epidemiologic studies, it is used the concept of the electromagnetic pollution.
The study of the electromagnetic field affects on the hunam beings was made from the beginning of electrical engineering.A first document, written in 1893 approacjes the intensity of the electromagnetic interactions with the environment, including human beings and animals.The biological system interact with the electromagnetic field in direct dependence of the field frequency.
There are:
- interactions at low frequencies (50Hz – 100 Hz), in the case of the fields generated by the distribution network, touring cars, industrial equipments;
-interactions at high frequencies (100Hz – 1GHz), in the case of the fields generated by the radio stations in all the wavelengths, television, mobile telephony, radiotelephony;
-interactions in the microwaves domain (over 1GHz), as in the case of microwave bake house, radars.
The more affected persons are the military personal who works with radars and the medical personal that works with diathermy equipments.
It is hard to make a correct analysis of the exposure effects.For example, a study made on the mobile phone effects shows a death rate higher at the users of this equipment.But how much of this effect is owed to the electromagnetic field and how much to the stress associated to the persons that use the mobile phone is hard to appreciate.
The sources which can have an impact over the man’s health:hair dryer to children, TV, PC, walkie talkie, broadcast towers, electric heaters, ship telecommunication systems, high voltage networks.
