In an earlier post we talked about some solar blinds that were designed to light your room with some solar panels able to convert solar energy into electricity. “These SuniT solar blinds have been designed by Yoon Lee designer and have a lot of advantages that are very useful every day. These solar blinds can warm and light any room where are installed in the cheapest way possible. The exterior of these blinds are equipped with solar cells which can transmit solar energy in an efficient way behind of the blind“.
Few days ago Konarka has designed a transparent solar cell that could be used on windows as an electricity generator. Authorities have approved the use of these solar cells such as construction materials. These solar cells are made from a flexible and transparent plastic and the main advantage of these solar cells is that they could be used for a wide range of applications, such as portable chargers, power-generating military tents, and sensors. “It is energy-efficient and transparent with superior vertical performance and a subtle red, blue or green aesthetic. With these features, BIPV (building-integrated photovoltaics) will no longer need to be confined to spandrel or overhead applications.”, Leon Silverstein said.
