Hybride Solar/LED lightning saves up to 85% energy

The newly founded Visible Light Solar Technologies announced the Vector line of hybrid solar/LED lighting systems to help replace the many millions of street lights  as well as the industrial and commercial  interior/exterior lighting systems from the US and reduce energy costs for the average tax payers. The new technologies provide  energy savings and reduces  maintenance costs. Measurements show that municipalities, businesses and consumers could save up to 189 terawatt hours of energy by switching from conventional HID(high-intensity discharge) or normal incandescent bulb lights to LED illumination, or in other qualities as  saving $20 billion in electricity costs or taking 16 million homes off the grid.

The company has already started installing Vector lightning systems at 12 sites, such as Osuna Business Park ,Bosque School and DKD Electric. Besides greatly

reducing electricity consumption, the application is compatible with most existing infrastructure of wiring and light poles. Also, as a environmental action,Visible Light Solar will see that the old  HID bulbs containing mercury or xenon will get recycled by National Metals.

Visible Light Solar achieved this improvements by integrating LED lighting devices with solar power technology(Direct Distributive Power Generation). That leads to an efficiency increment of over 85%  than the out-dated HID technology through the  energy efficient LED components corroborated with  solar power technologies. The culmination of these two technologies resulted in the creation of a power management infrastructure, the Self Powered Device Interface (SPDI),  a high-tech machinery able to control voltage fluctuations and  performing a intelligent  switch between solar battery and grid power. With the use of the LED’s the company came up with a more reliable source of illumination, the LED’s  proving more durable, lasting up to 100.000 hours and coping better with difficult weather conditions.
