Mercedes-Benz company seems to produce the best cars in the world and seems to be also the most powerful car production company on the market. Recently they begun to dominate the green vehicles market. The new FoldingBike has great chances to become one of the most popular bikes on the market. Even if the prices for this bike are still high( euro 1700), cycling with FoldingBike could be very practical (this bike could be folded for easy carrying). This small bike ( 80 × 80 x 35cm when is folded) could be used wherever you go, it can be easily put in your car trunk. This bike has a unique folding system, so it can be folded in seconds without any other special tools.“The new Folding Bike from Mercedes-Benz is perfectly attuned to today’s urban mobility needs. Whether it’s a weekend trip in the Cabriolet or the daily drive to work, the high-tech bike can be unfolded effortlessly in seconds, making it ideal for flexible use in the city. The unique, patented mechanism also allows the bike to be folded in stages. The ergonomically shaped quick-release fastener on the seat dome means that the bike can be folded in seconds. In just one move the front and rear wheels fold together. The advantage here: despite its compact transportation size, the cycle can still be pushed effortlessly. Folded in this way, the bike is perfect for urban “ bike and ride” mobility. ” – www.autospectator.com

With higher prices in gas and insurance. This bike is a great idea. Plus it can fold up and fit anywhere.

This is a great car – and the bike looks awesome! What a deal!!
GREAT ARTICLE.
For 1700 euro is a rip off. You can get something like it for 200. Is it made out of titanium?
Thanks, excellent article.
Glad to hear that MB is moving ahead with this folding bike. When the product was announced last year, there was discussion among cyclists whether this was just vaporware.
The MB folding bike has some interesting features but the rear derailleur is going to be a problem. It’s so low to the ground that it will be picking up debris and making the chain & gears prematurely dirty. Hopefully, MB will switch to an internally geared hub. Although they weigh a bit more, internal hub drive trains last much longer and require far less maintenance.
The design does look rather different, however this bicycle is for those who strive to practice environmentally sustainability. The Folding Bike is everything one would expect from Mercedes-Benz.
This is just a marketing gimmick by Mercedes in my opinion. I doubt that many drivers would actually use their folding bikes. Environmentally, it might be better to buy a less expensive car and a more expensive (and practical) bicyle.
I agree!!!
