How Forests Improve Human Health
22 August 2009 | Green News | No Comments
We talked in some older posts about forest influences on global warming and the influence of vegetation on climate evolution.
Today I will present some special qualities of forests, and more specifically, the role of forest on human health (health role).
So I will continue to list some of these special qualities:
-The forest can purify the atmosphere(carbon capture and oxygen release; air in the forest is healthier because there it is no smoke and dust);
-In resinous forests (Abies alba, Picea abies) the air contains a significant amount of ozone (air in these forests is suitable for diseases with a long convalescent period);
-Leaves that cover trees and the forest are able to reduce noise pollution (ensure balance of human body with the environment);
-In forest we can find many medicinal plants, forest fruits, edible fungus, pollen and nectar from flowers (60% of medicines are made with substances derived from forest medicinal plants).
