Toyota is a company that, I consider is the best hybrid cars producer in the world. They become so popular due to Prius hybrid model. Many Prius owners say that Prius hybrid has a limited power, and this power is difficult to improve, because of limited batteries.
Until now, on Toyota hybrid models were installed batteries produced by Panasonic EV Energy. This company manufactures quality batteries for hybrid cars but not enough to satisfy all customers. Because of this, Toyota recently started negotiations with Sanyo company in order to test their lithium-ion batteries on Prius Plug-in models.
You may not know this, but Toyota owns 60% of Panasonic and Panasonic recently negotiated with Sanyo to buy the entire company at the price of 9billion dollars. (so, we could say that all this business remains in “Toyota Family”).
Toyota announced that they will buy about 10.000 battery units for test in 2011.We hope that these lithium-ion batteries made by Sanyo will be more effective, able to improve performance of all hybrid cars produced by Toyota.
