Chizhevsky Chandelier Harvests Static Electricity from Air

Lately, researchers have found plenty of ways to produce electricity, using different technologies. It turned out that one of the most effective ways to produce electricity is to use renewable energy sources. So far we have discussed on MyGreenTreasure about several ways to produce electricity (using solar energy, wind energy, kinetic energy, etc.) but today I will present to you a new and revolutionary device, capable to produce static electricity from air.

The device so-called “Chizhevsky chandelier” was developed by some russian scientists, and as I said before, it can convert static electricity into usable electricity. This device can transfer energy to an accumulating unit using a metal plate wich captures particles from the chandelier. Researchers say that they have managed to obtain for now 40V output power, wich is something special, if we think that this electricity comes from air. Researchers also said that they can produce much more similar energy without a problem, so we can start to think that in the near future our gadgets could depend on the air around us.
