2000 Mercedes Vito E-Cell Vans Scheduled for Production by the end of 2011

Mercedes-Benz Vito E-Cell was finally launched on the European market. Mercedes-Benz started series production of its new electric Vito, announcing that 2,000 E-Cell vans will be produced by the end of 2011. The new E-Cell Vito is an urban delivery vehicle powered by 70KW AC motor and as producers claim, this engine can propel the vehicle with 50 miles per hour.
This electric van comes with a 36 kw lilithium-ion battery pack, which gives the vehicle a range of 80 miles. Both the engine and the batteries are liquid-cooled which will improve the vehicle durability.
