GM Announced its Chevy Volt Electric Car Will Cost $41.000

In a tight race to become the most important electric vehicle manufacturer, none of the competitors will not drop the price of their cars because this would mean a sign of weakness in front of opponents. Although their biggest desire is to have high sales, GM announced that when it goes on sale, the new Chevrolet Volt electric car will cost $41,000. This price is actually $8,000 higher than Nissan Leaf’s price, its closest rival.
Even in this situation, with a higher price than its rival, GM is optimistic in terms of future sales. They will also offer a $350-per-month lease deal that’s equal to the Leaf’s. The initial price ($ 41K) seems to be damn high but it will actually fall to $33,500 due to federal taxes credit.
You cannot afford $41,000 plus tax to get a Volt but $350 a month is within reach. Anyway, after I heard this news I was convinced that Chevy is much better than Nissan leaf. Unlike Nissan Leaf which can run about 100 miles on a charge, the new Chevy Volt electric car runs on battery for up to 40 miles but also has a small gasoline engine to generate electricity when the battery runs down.
California, Georgia and Oregon, will offer additional tax breaks that will lower the price further. Chevy Volt electric goes on sale in November so prepare your cash savings for this zero-emissions beast.
