Magnesium could become a very important alternative energy source

You may remember from high school that you have learned about a silvery metal, called magnesium, that burns with a white flame. Researchers say that magnesium could be considered an alternative energy source because it can store ten times more energy than hydrogen. Moreover, magnesium can be found in large amounts in seawater, enough for the next 300.000 years.
Often, when it comes to alternative energy, people often mention about hydrogen, but I think we should also take into account other materials that could be as effective as hydrogen. Many researchers from all around the world have already tried to use magnesium in energy storage. But, there is one major problem that comes with magnesium purification. It’s too expensive because uses a lot of energy.
A Japanese researcher has found a solution for this problem but for now, this thing seems impossible to be done. He planed to build a big solar powered laser that will generate enough heat for this magnesium purification process. If his plans will become reality there are big chances for us to see how magnesium will become the most popular alternative energy source.
