New Device Can Melt Snow and Filter the Water Resulted

27 April 2011 | Green Technology | No Comments

In their unstoppable race of exploiting every possible source of fresh water, people developed a new portable snow  melting device that can purify water. Flux, as its creator Hugo Busbridge named it, is actually a bottle-like device, perfect for mountaineers who often remain stranded.

Being easy to carry everywhere and anywhere, this device can store snow and then convert it into clean drinking water. Today, mountaineers may know many other methods to melt snow, or many other methods to survive, but Flex is the only device that can help you stay alive in mountains without using shovels or chemicals.

Banana Peels Could Purify Water Better Than Anything

13 April 2011 | Green Technology | No Comments

Brazilian researchers found a new way to purify water using banana peels. They have discovered that chopped banana peels could clean water more efficient than any other purification materials (can filter toxic metals such as lead or copper).

Today, many rivers or lakes could be possible sources of drinking water. But there is one major problem: often these waters contain heavy metals such as lead and copper. So, this new discovery could both help cleaning these waters and protect the environment at the same time.

Carbon-Negative System Can Turn Plastic Into Fuel

24 February 2011 | Green Technology | 1 Comment

A new “technological wonder” comes again from Japanese scientists who discovered how plastic materials can be converted into fuel. Nowadays, everybody is worried about the plastic materials which are thrown everywhere. Plastic bags, caps, coke bottles and many other plastic materials are a real threat for the environment. But now, the machine called Carbon-Negative System has solved this problem.

All those plastic bags or soda bottles can be converted into fuel sufficient to heat up your home. So, using such a Carbon-Negative System you’ll be able to protect nature and save some money, at the same time. In fact, that’s all about making our life more beautiful and easier. Imagine that: you will be able to heat up your home almost for free your entire life.

Cycloclean, A Pedal-Powered Water Purifier

22 February 2011 | Green Technology | No Comments

Japanese researchers have proved once again their supremacy in designing green devices. By combining smartness and  originality they managed to create “Cycloclean”, a water purifying system that is powered by pedaling a bicycle. So, instead of using electricity to purify water, all you need now, is to use your legs.

Proud of their invention, Japanese company Nissan Basic, stated that “Cycloclean” can purify 5 liters of water in about one minute. “If you can bike to a river, pond, pool or other sources of water, all you need is your leg power to produce clean drinking water”, said Yuichi Katsuura, president of Nippon Basic Co.
