You may wish to check your facts. It is not possible for an air filter to increase fuel mileage on any modern vehicle. If air flow is restricted, the air flow meter and oxygen sensors will simply decrease pulse width to the injectors and keep the fuel/air mixture constant. Mileage will not be affected. This is quite well documented from many credible sources.

The facts are, it requires a set amount of energy (fuel,) to move a set amount of weight a given distance at a given speed with a particular design of engine. Regardless how the air is filtered, this does not change. What does work is to drive slower, drive a lighter vehicle, buy a more efficient engine or drive less.

Air is the most important element of human environment. Man can't live a single moments without air. But we don't think that it is we who pollute this most vital element. Clean air is essential for life. Air is polluted in many ways. Smoke pollutes air. Man makes fires to cook his food.To make bricks burns refuse, melts pitch for road construction and burns wood. All these things produce heavy smoke and this smoke pollutes air. Railway engines, power houses, mills and factories use coal and oil. buses, tucks and cars use petrol and diesel oil. Again all these things create smoke and cause air pollution. The most serious air pollution occurs in big industrial areas where there are many mills and factories. serious air pollution also occurs in big cities where there are many buses, trucks and cars plying the street everyday. Sometimes men in big industrial area become so sick by inhaling polluted air that they cannot be cued. So proper measures and steps should be taken to prevent air pollution.

I tried LED's and found them expensive and odd looking illumination. they are cool, but mine went dim within the month and one that was supposed to last 15,000 hours didn't last 15. CFL's won't work outside in the winter, so outside all my lights are incandescent and I do use cfl's indoors, but sometimes they flicker and him. Led's need a lot of work before I'll try them again!

In response to Connie's comment, all clouds form on some kind of salty small particles, mostly sulfate but sodium chloride is also posible. However, after forming droplets grow to sizes much larger than their original precursors, diluting their components and becoming mainly water. Acid rain and other effects do not come from the original particles that formed the droplets but from absorption of pollutants by the droplets and some liquid phase chemistry, which mainly happens in highly contaminanted cities. The particles that would be injected into the atmopshere to create the artificial clouds are too small to alter the composition of subsequent rain. Thus, the land won't be polluted by this mechanism.

That being said, I think Marine Cloud Whitening is not a good idea. There is still a lot of uncertainty on their effect on moisture circulation and rain production. If some of the extra aerosol injected into the atmosphere does not fall out as rain, then it can be deposited on other particles or even get transported increasing pollution in the atmosphere. Furthermore, the creation of localized cold spots in the marine environment would alter marine ecosystems and water vapor circulation. I just don't think our current knowledge is enough to even guess what really is going to happen if Marine Cloud Whitening is implemented.

Finally, I dissagree with the tone of the article. Even though some scientist have studied these ideas they are not "proposing" them. Such proposals are rather found in pseudo-scientific journals, which are not backed up by serious studies.

The Huns pull out ahead again, of the Great Hulking American Neanderthal in the race for survival, as the Asian hoards threaten Western civilization! Yankee Doodle prepares to go down with his ship, no battening of hatches, no bilge pumps operational, no acknowledgment there even is a problem, blindly falling, all the while singing songs of his own glory, they echo off the walls of Hell as the great chasm closes over his head! Germany rises again, sustainable, sane as always, and prepared for the end of cheap energy. Smaller houses, more economic cars, buses, electric bullet trains, sustainable agriculture, sane breeding practices, adequate education systems, chaste and hard working citizens, all frugal and not wasting, and Solar cells sought and used extensively! SMART!

Portable, small generators ,are very useful tool that can produce electrical energy to unconnected areas, and particularly after the loss of electricity in the wake of a storm or other unforeseen circumstance. That's why the demand for portable generators has increased greatly in recent years.

Diabetes today is mostly caused by a lifestyle that has less exercise and too much sugar. Diabetes can be easily avoided by just doing simple exercises each day like jogging and avoiding sugars. If you already have diabetes, exercise is still the best way to manage it. Food supplements like Charantia and Chromium also helps.
