Remote Controlled LED EcoBulb Illuminates Only What is Required

2 January 2010 | Green Technology | No Comments

All incandescent light bulbs are daily replaced with energy saving systems and that happens because people feel the need to reduce electric bills as much as possible. The most popular lighting systems, CFLs and LED bulbs, are going to replace soon all regular light bulbs. Designers have already started to add some improvements to these lighting systems for an easy and efficient use. The remote-controlled LED EcoBulb is a similar system, with some impressive features.

Ultra-Quiet Zero-Emission Hybrid Bus debuts in New York

8 December 2009 | Green Cars | No Comments

It seems like in America, hybrid buses began to appear in more and more cities. DesignLine is an example of such ultra-quiet zero-emission turbine hybrid bus, recently appeared in New York. This bus is fueled by a spinning turbine that recharges an onboard Li-ion battery. This system is very quiet, and for this reason bus was dubbed “The bomb”.

The new hybrid bus was tested for the first time in Manhattan and Brooklyn and cost $ 559,000 each. If the project will be approved by the end of 2010, 87 more hybrid buses will run in New York. This thing will be possible only after a $60 million contract with DesignLine.

LED Lightbulbs Save Considerable Energy

1 December 2009 | Green Technology | 1 Comment

A new study states that LED lightbulbs consume far less energy than incandescent bulbs in their entire lifetime. The study was conducted by Osram, a big lightning company from Germany and has studied and inspected the entire life of a LED bulb, from manufacturing down to its removal, during which they measured the total energy consumption, as well as the gas emissions ejected during the whole procedure. They also accounted for major global warming threats in each process, like the acid rain potential, photochemical ozone creation, eutrophication or the pollution through the release toxic chemical materials.

Hybride Solar/LED lightning saves up to 85% energy

22 June 2009 | Solar Power | 4 Comments

The newly founded Visible Light Solar Technologies announced the Vector line of hybrid solar/LED lighting systems to help replace the many millions of street lights  as well as the industrial and commercial  interior/exterior lighting systems from the US and reduce energy costs for the average tax payers. The new technologies provide  energy savings and reduces  maintenance costs. Measurements show that municipalities, businesses and consumers could save up to 189 terawatt hours of energy by switching from conventional HID(high-intensity discharge) or normal incandescent bulb lights to LED illumination, or in other qualities as  saving $20 billion in electricity costs or taking 16 million homes off the grid.

The company has already started installing Vector lightning systems at 12 sites, such as Osuna Business Park ,Bosque School and DKD Electric. Besides greatly
