Hybrid Power Generator Can Convert Light and Heat Into Electricity
13 December 2010 | Alternative Energy | No Comments
Researchers at Fujitsu Laboratories Ltd have ingeniously developed a power generator device that can convert both temperature difference (heat energy) and light energy into electricity. Made of organic materials, this new electricity generator could power your gadgets using light or your body temperature.
The technology behind this new generator, combines both PV cells and thermoelectric conversion devices. It uses N-type and p-type semiconductors. Switching the wiring connections of the semiconductors researchers have managed to create these two modes: photovoltaic mode and thermoelectric mode.

Tryi Yeh designed a new clever device, named Sunny Song, a Bluetooth speaker system, powered by solar energy. This Bluetooth speaker system is compatible with several types of portable devices (music players generally), so wherever you are you can listen music without thinking to your batteries life-length.
Sahara Desert Could Change World’s Energetic Future
2 August 2009 | Solar Power | 2 Comments
Nowadays, solar energy is the most important alternative energy source on the planet. Solar centrals will be the main electricity suppliers in the near future. The perfect areas, where these solar centrals would work at maximum capacity are deserts. In deserts the intensity of solar radiation during the day is very high and solar systems would reach maximum efficiency.
All Recent Applications of Solar PV Panels

Photovoltaics (PV) solar electricity is the most elegant method to produce electricity without moving parts, emissions or noise, no water for cooling system and generating no by-products – and all this by converting abundant sunlight without practical limitations. The amount of solar radiation is actually the amount of solar energy that arrives on the earth. The last estimation made by National Renewable Energy Laboratory scientists proves that the entire world’s electrical needs could be supplied if only one percent of the land in the U.S. would be covered with solar panels. See-Through Solar Cells Module

The see-through structure transmits part of the incident light, so it can simultaneously provide lighting and produce electricity. This see-through strucrure is one type of module that makes the most of the special qualities of thin film materials.
There are two types of see-through structures. The firs one makes use of the ease of processing of thin film-materials by perforating part of the solar cell with many small holes so as to allow some of the light to pass through. The other type of structure make use of the transparency of thin film materials.Normaly the light entering the solar cell is reflected by the metal back electrode and does not pass through.
